Describe What You Do
I’m the People Director at The Grand Brighton, recent winner of the Cateys 2019 “Best Employer in Hospitality” award. Now in my 16th year at the iconic Brighton hotel, I am responsible for driving the hotel’s positive people culture and am at the forefront of developing employee engagement and retention initiatives. From progressing the hotel’s future leaders through academy training programmes to implementing company perk platforms, I’m passionate about creating an environment for continual development and recognition among The Grand team.
Prior to joining The Grand Brighton as Deputy General Manager, I started mycareer in hospitality back in 1995 at Whitbread Hotels and has also held previous positions as Operations Manager and Food & Beverage Manager at Marriott International in various UK locations.
I balance my time way from the hotel with my family and love of the outdoors, and can be found either exploring the country in our campervan, or as a dedicated community and charity fundraiser to causes close my heart, hiking some exceptionally long walks!

Building connections with our next generation employees, and allowing young people to experience a taste of what it’s like to work in the world of hospitality and guest service, and introducing them to careers they may never have considered is really important to me!
