Describe What You Do

I am a local councillor and within that I sit on the Governance Committee and focus on Housing as my portfolio area. I am also the council rep on the board of trustees at Heene Community Centre and I am one of the trustees for Shout WSK (Street Homeless Outreach Worthing Soup Kitchen). In my day job I work for a heat pump manufacturer so have some knowledge in sustainability. I am an active member of the local Extinction Rebellion and Stand Up to Racism Groups. Pre Covid I was one of the Winter Night Shelter Co-ordinators.

Why Have You Signed up to Be a Sand Mentor?

I am so impressed by the Sand Project and am keen to do anything I can to encourage young people to reach their full potential. I also want to learn more about what we can do better in the town to support people with learning difficulties.

What Is Your Business/Work Ethos?

I am passionate about equality and sustainability and working with others to break down barriers that do not exist for everyone so that we can all have a fair chance to live a happy and fulfilling life.
